W. Allen Rogers, II

Allen is a career investment banker having spent most of his years serving middle market companies throughout the Southeast.  He began his professional career as an examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta and later worked with Tri-South Mortgage Investors and Kidder Peabody & Co.  In 1978, Allen moved to Charlotte where he co-founded Robison, McAulay & Rogers, a boutique investment bank, and Uvest Financial Services, a third-party provider of discount brokerage services for community banks.  In 1985, he joined Interstate/Johnson Lane where he became head of investment banking and a member of the board of directors.  In 1995, he was recruited as a Managing Director of KPMG’s investment banking practice and, most recently, served as a Principal and co-owner of Allen C. Ewing & Co., a regional investment bank.  He currently sits on the board of directors of Insteel Industries, Inc., Mount Airy, NC and Carolina Alliance Bank, Spartanburg, SC.

Allen is a graduate of Davidson College (AB in economics) and The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (MBA).  He served as a first lieutenant in the U. S. Army with tours of duty in the United States and the Republic of Vietnam.

As a Partner with Peter Browning Partners, LLC, Allen’s areas of focus include governance practices, board organization and process, board assessments and board succession, with a particular emphasis on financial institutions.
